Bulletin Board and Pamphlet Table Policy

Pamphlets from government agencies and non-profit organizations are accepted for public distribution as space allows.

Calvert Library Prince Frederick, Fairview Branch and Twin Beaches Branch have a bulletin board for use by organizations other than the library.

Informational posters and pamphlets may be displayed in the library under the following conditions:

Information/materials are welcome from:

  • government agencies
  • non-profit organizations
  • non-profit organizations sponsoring events which are open to the public, whether the events are free or not
  • educational providers
  • businesses may post a business card (2 x 3 ½ ")

Information/materials that are not accepted:

  • Political posters. A poster announcing an informational meeting to be held by a political candidate at a specific time and place, open to all, is acceptable. A poster encouraging the public to vote for a particular candidate is not.
  • Announcements of events not open to the general public. This would include membership meetings of service organizations.
  • Notices from anonymous groups or individuals. All material must include the name, address and telephone number or e-mail address of a contact person.
  • Signs over 8 ½ x 11 inches
  • Signs for events that are 3 or more months in the future

Material to be displayed is to be approved by library staff before posting.

All information that complies with this policy will be posted as space is available.

The bulletin board will be checked by library staff on the first day of each month. All business cards will be removed. Outdated flyers will be removed.

The Branch Manager may make exceptions to this policy.
